Co-written by Dave Knight and Sam Sommer, the single reached #9 on the official German singles chart and #5 in Austria. The recording and official video have since accumulated more than 72 million combined Spotify streams and YouTube views.

Performed with Robin Gibb’s band for this live concert recording, featuring songs including “How Deep Is Your Love,” “Massachusetts,” “Words,” “Tragedy,” “Jive Talkin’” and “Stayin’ Alive.” The concert was later released internationally on CD and DVD.

Contributed songwriting to WOW, including lyrics for “Take It On The Chin.” The song was later revisited for the Analogue Audio Association’s 35th-anniversary audiophile vinyl release, The Tapesessions.

Co-written for McGregor-Smith’s debut album, produced by Julian Hinton. The album launched at PizzaExpress Jazz Club, Soho; McGregor-Smith’s return to songwriting and debut record were later featured by The Guardian.
“World We Share”
Song development
Contributed to the development of “World We Share,” later chosen by longtime musical collaborator Wayne Banks as his debut solo single. The recording was mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Geoff Pesche.

Songs for Ordinary Lives

Dave’s first release under his own name brings the story up to the present. Developed under the long-standing mentorship of songwriter and producer Paul Statham, Songs for Ordinary Lives marks a return to songwriting after years spent working across performance, recording, production and music education. Statham’s contribution ranges from small changes that transformed songs to new sections, structural rewrites and extensive development of the material. The result is a collection of songs about ordinary people, ordinary lives—and the things that aren’t ordinary at all.
